Cavalry FC's Adam Pearlman has been named the Canadian Premier League's U-21 Player of the Month for May. The 21-year-old defender has been a key part of Cavalry's strong backline, helping the team concede just one goal in four matches. Pearlman has started every single league game this season and played 21 minutes off the bench in Cavalry's Canadian Championship preliminary round win over Pacific FC. He has been in the Team of the Week twice through eight weeks so far. In April, Toronto FC general manager Jason Hernandez said that loaning Pearlman back to the CPL was best for the South Africa-born Canadian national team prospect to play a lot of professional minutes week in and week out again rather than largely sit on the bench for TFC. Pearlman might have played given TFC's injury troubles, but he has clearly found himself a great situation with one of the CPL's top clubs. Cavalry dominated the May monthly honours, with Tommy Wheeldon Jr picking up the Manager of the Month and star striker Tobias Warschewski getting Player of the Month honours. Inter Toronto FC netminder Diego Urtiaga was the Goalkeeper of the Month.
